" We have just returned to Perth after a marvellous Danube cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg/Prague and it is important to commend your company for the faultless experience we enjoyed. In every aspect our comfort and enjoyment was the priority.
The entire tour exceeded our expectations and we thoughly enjoyed the friendliness, courtesy and efficiency of the entire crew and team. The Cruise Director, Hans Beckert left nothing to chance and attended to every possible detail. His personality and energy was a big factor in causing guests to mix right from the start.
Of particular note was the care taken to ensure all on shore excursions were conducted well. Hans personally introduced the bus driver and guide before every excursion commenced. This way we felt Avalon was always in control.
This contrasted to a later tour in that the actual operator of the tour was two steps removed from the original tour company with whom we had booked. Subsequently, we did not feel as comfortable (or as important!) as we did with Avalon. The tours were also less enjoyable.
This has given us a good insight in the questions to ask before booking another tour.

" We flew to Budapest and stayed at the Sofitel. Budapest was surprising to say the least. There is just so much to see and do. From Budapest, we boarded the MS Poetry and experienced the most pleasurable part of our holiday. The Poetry was less than two years old and immaculate. The staff were great and the whole atmosphere was magic. Everyone should do this at least once in a lifetime and be well and truly spoilt. "
